Web management Principles-the elements

Posted by fazza

There are 3 basic elements.

Cost : Friedlien (2001) in her book, Web Project Management stated that the cost basically is not only about money, but it also include the management time, opportunity cost, or other things that have value to the project.

Time : Number of days to complete the project, and also the total of the man-hours spent on the project.

Quality : Whether the end product meet the specifications and aims of the web.

Cost, time and quality, all these elements could affect one another. It’s like variables and how they affect each other. Getting confused? Okay, I’ll do my best to explain. For example, you as the project manager are aiming for the good quality web. So, quality will become your dependent variable, and the other two elements; cost and time will become the manipulated variable. Time and cost can be increase or decrease based on what quality you are expected.

The situation will also be the same if you have the tight budget. Cost will be your dependent variable, then what you have to do is manipulating the other two element; the quality and time.
